Renaissance?s final release for 2005 comes by way of a fast emerging group of producers from Britain?s south coast. Tentatively entitled ?Pompey House?, the city and it?s surrounding areas has recently given rise to Rob Mellow, John Gurd, James Talk, Phil Thompson and, of course, James Zabiela.

The latest name to join these esteemed ranks is Chichester?s very talented PJ Davy; his first offering for Renaissance being the Indian-tinged genius that is Bollyfella, a track that was born out of his low boredom threshold. ?I go through phases of liking a certain sound?, he says, ?But it usually only lasts a couple of tracks or so, which I reckon is a good thing.? Bollyfella comes in two mixes. First up, ?The Tip Top Disco Mix? is a house offering firmly aimed at the tougher end of the spectrum. Percussion, phat bass lines and Bollyfella?s trademark riff all combine to generate a mix of maximum intensity; whilst ?The Original Mix? is the distinct PJ sound, a dirty acid rub with lashings of funk, so it?s no surprise it?s become a firm a favourite with the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli, who features it on the exclusive digital edition of his latest mix compilation for Renaissance
